We are based in Southwick which is right on the border of East and West Sussex, just a few miles west of Brighton and east of Worthing. We cover the Southwick, Portslade and Fishergate suburbs of Brighton. Our dog walks take place in The South Downs National Park.
For the majority of our lives we have been lucky enough to have dogs as part of the family, including two little Poodles, a Corgi, a Golden Retriever and two gorgeous Dobermans. We just cannot imagine our home and family without dogs. It seemed like a natural progression for us to start a dog walking business given our love for dogs and years of dog walking experience behind us. So in 2022 we established The K9 Walker Co as a mother and daughter family run dog walking business.
We are fully trained in providing emergency first aid to dogs and both hold CPD certificates issued by a UK accredited training provider.
Our professional dog walking service is a fully registered UK business and we are also fully insured.
We are also individually DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checked.
2025 Update: With mixed emotions, Georgia has moved onto pursue a new career. We wish her well and thank her for everything she brought to The K9 Walker Co.

The Detail...
The K9 Walker Co provide dog walking services in East and West Sussex. We specialise in walking small to medium sized breeds of dog, up to 20 inches tall measured from the ground to the top the of the shoulder when the dog is in a standing position.
We cover Southwick, Portslade and Fishergate areas.
Before walking your dog for the first time we will arrange to meet you and your dog so that we can all get to know each other. We will need to take some details from you to register your dog with us, listen to any specific requirements you might have and answer any questions, then we are good to go!
Once registered with us there is no tie-in period or minimum term contract so you are free to book dog walks with us anytime you wish, or if you no longer have a need for a dog walker then you are free to leave us.
On the day of the walk, we will pickup your dog from your chosen location before embarking on a one hour walk and then return your dog to you, fully exercised. We offer two time slots per day, 9am and 11am. Slots are available Monday to Friday and we may be able to accommodate occasional ad-hoc request for weekend walks
We do not use a van for transport - all our dogs ride along with us in the car. They are safely harnessed and connected to seat belts to ensure they are safe and comfortable for the journey. This means that they share the car cabin with us at all times which is the safest part of the vehicle for them to travel in and they also benefit from human company.
Our number one priority is the health and safety of your pet. For this reason we have implemented the following three policies for our business:
We walk up to a maximum of five dogs in total which is below the figure set by the local authority. The number of dogs on each walk is general lower than five.
We only walk dogs no taller than 20 inches (measured from the ground to the top of shoulder when standing). By walking smaller dogs we can ensure all dogs are under complete control at all times.
Dogs are kept on leads at all times unless requested otherwise. For any dog to be off the lead it must have good recall ability and be well socialised with other dogs and people. Your dog must not pose a danger to others whilst off the lead. We strictly adhere to all local council rules and public space protection orders in relation to where it is permitted for dogs to be on or off the lead.
You can rest assured in the knowledge that we are fully trained in providing emergency first aid to dogs and hold the relevant CPD certificates issued by a UK accredited training provider.
We provide our services every week of the year with the exception of when we close for holidays - we all need a rest right? Holidays are a maximum of 20 working days per year and will be communicated at least 4 weeks in advance. It is not our usual practice to work on UK public bank holidays.
If your dog gets muddy on our walk we will make every effort to clean your dog's paws before we return your dog to you.
We carry water to ensure dogs have refreshment available and do not suffer from dehydration.
We ask that all dogs must have a collar, an ID tag and be microchipped. All vaccinations, flea and worm treatments must be up to date. If your dog is in season or not castrated it is not safe to take it on a group walk, so we can discuss solo walking your pet.
We walk dogs in all weathers, unless there has been a significant weather warning issued that poses a danger, in which case we will be in contact to discuss a safer alternative. In addition, when the MET Office forecasts a temperature of 23 degrees Celsius or higher during the dog walking time, then we will contact you before the walk to discuss potential alternatives to a walk. We may also make further considerations during hot weather for dog breeds which are particular sensitive to higher temperatures.
We require payment to be made the day before your dog is walked at the latest. Cancellations within 48 hours incur a 50% charge and within 24 hours the full amount will be payable. All payments should be made via bank transfer however we can also accept cash
